Winter Haven Hospital Board Gets New Chairman
WINTER HAVEN – Richard Straughn, a lawyer with Straughn & Turner, P.A., has been elected chairman of the volunteer board of trustees for Winter Haven Hospital.
Mark Bostick, chairman for the past five years, will remain on the board, said WHH President Steve Nierman, who called Bostick “a courageous leader.”
Other elected officers include Don Ingram, first vice chairman; Eileen Holden, secretary; Tommy Oakley, assistant secretary; William “Bill” Burns, treasurer; and Charles McPherson, assistant treasurer. Robert “Bob” Carter, Al Cassidy, Todd Dantzler, Dr. Edward Lubin, William “Bill” Murrell, Cindy Price, and Chip Tucker continue to serve on the board, which oversees the main hospital and Winter Haven Women’s Hospital (the former Regency Medical Center).
Nierman is an ex-officio member, as are Dr. Don Gale, WHH vice president of medical affairs; Carol Koeppel-Olsen, WHH vice president of patient services; Joel Thomas, president of the WHH Foundation and Dr. Ashish Shah, president of the hospital’s medical staff.
